ANGUS MACLISE - DREAMWEAPON
Three Angus MacLise LP releases
Boo-Hooray is pleased to announce the release of a new LP of Angus MacLise recordings: DREAMWEAPON II. Previously available an extremely limited run as a giveaway CD-R available exclusively at the opening of the DREAMWEAPON exhibit in May, this new LP release features previously-unreleased material from the Angus MacLise audio archive. This LP release features extended and remastered versions of four of the tracks from the giveaway CD-R. The LP, issued in a limited run of 500 unnumbered copies, comes in a screen-printed sleeve and includes a risograph-printed insert featuring a miniature facsimile of YEAR, a broadside poster by Angus MacLise originally issued in 1965.
To coincide with the release of DREAMWEAPON II, Boo-Hooray is also issuing a second pressing of the sold-out LPs DREAMWEAPON I and DREAMWEAPON III. The new editions, limited to 500 unnumbered copies, include screen-printed covers and risograph-printed facsimile reprints exclusive to the new pressings:
DREAMWEAPON I, now in a pink and blue-printed cover, includes a hand-folded pamphlet containing a transcription of Jack Smith's story "Les Evening Gowns Damnées" (the A-side of the LP) and a reproduction of one side of an original Theatre of Jack Smith promo brochure.
DREAMWEAPON III, now in a blue cover, includes a facsimile of a flier advertising a 1965 performance of Angus MacLise's multimedia piece "Rites of the Dreamweapon."
These LPs are issued in conjunction with the opening of the exhibition DREAMWEAPON: THE LIFE AND ART OF ANGUS MACLISE 1938-1979 at CIAP, Hasselt, Belgium - more info The exhibition runs from October 23-November 20th, coinciding with GRAAG TRAAG FESTIVAL #2.
